We will resist even if the state demands us to organise funeral for Castro— Father of missing hiplife musician

Mr Eshun, Father of the missing hiplife musician, Theophilus Tagoe known in the showbiz  circles as Castro, has shot down  claims which suggest the “Under Fire” musician is dead and has expressed the family’s unwillingness to organise funeral in Castro’s name.

According to him, the family will not accept even if the state declares his son dead after seven years of dissappearance.

Castro went on a jetski ride with his female friend, Janet Bandu at Aqua Safari in Adaa on June 8, 2014 and since then the two mysteriously went missing.

Speaking in an interview with the oil-city based FM station, Skyy Power, Mr Eshun indicated that his son was still alive and was not dead.

He indicated that nothing could make him and the family admit his son was dead, stressing that “not even after the state had declared him dead as the law demands for a person who goes missing for seven years.”

Mr Eshun explained that the state has not yet declared Castro dead so people should not conclude that the legendary Fante musician was dead.

Touching on whether they were law abiding, he stated that the family abides by the laws of the state, and would not conduct themselves in a manner that would in any sense be considered as a resistance to the laws governing the country.

“We are law-abiding people so the family will not resist the state institution from pronouncing him dead in July as demanded but will they force us to have his funeral or will they kill him when he appears after the pronouncement?” Mr Eshun quizzed.

He insisted that his son was not dead, thus no law or person could compel him to organise a funeral.

“So if  we organise funeral and he appeared after the pronouncement will he be killed? Let’s leave the issue with time because time has all the answers” he added.
