Adom TV apologises for airing fake bribery video fuelled by the NDC against Akufo-Addo
Adom television, subsidiary of the Multimedia Group of Company has apologised for airing a video which showed the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo allegedly receiving $40,000.00 bribe.
According to management, the contents as aired does not represent the full story, stressing that the video was the then candidate, Nana Akufo-Addo who in October 2016 receiving a donation of GH₵40,000.00 to facilitate his political campaign.
This was contained in an apology statement issued in Accra on Wednesday by Management of Adom TV.
“Yesterday 1st December 2020, Adom TV aired a video allegedly of the President receiving a bribe of $40,000.00 which was shown during airtime bought by the National Democratic Congress (NDC),” it said.
The statement further indicated that the viral video has been pulled down from all the social media of the television and unreservedly apologised for any shame they might have caused the president, his party and members of his family.
“Adom TV unreservedly apologises for any harm or embarrassment the video may have caused the President and admits that the publication was in error.”
Management wishes to state that the said video has been taken down from all of its social media channels and that steps have been taken to avoid future occurrences,” the statement added.

Yesterday 1st December 2020, Adom TV aired a video allegedly of the President receiving a bribe of $40,000.00 which was shown during airtime bought by the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
It has now come to the attention of Management of Adom TV that the contents of the video as aired does not represent the full story as it understands, which was in fact, a video of the then candidate Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in October 2016 receiving a donation of GH₵40,000.00 for his campaign.
