NDC inaugurates national and regional YPF executive members

ProForum, a group under the Opposition, National Democratic  Congress (NDC) On Friday inaugurated a nine-member national executive board of the Young Professional Forum (YPF) to help campaign for the party to win the December 7 polls.

The executive members which made up of five men and four women include Mr Chris Dela Ahiabu, National Coordinator, Dr Charles Lwanga Bayel- Deputy National Coordinator, Mr Augustine Mmi-Oni Guure, General Secretary, Mr Cletus N. Chikpa, Deputy General Secretary, Hajia Salmata Kande Women’s Coordinator.

Others are Hajia Salmata Kande Women’s Coordinator, Ms Charity Tong-Kurug, Deputy Coordinator with Mr Kwesi Adam, Ms Ruth Dzokoto and Ms Benedicta Hayford as  National Executive members.

The ceremony, which took place at the national headquarters of the party in the Greater Accra Region saw teeming youth drawn from the various regions of the country.

Outdooring the executives of the YPF on September 18, the President of ProForum-National, Ambassador Sam Pee Yalley said the NDC party was working to entail women in governance hence the introduction of the four women and the Vice President of the party.

He noted that women have role to play in the developmental agenda of the country and was time they involve them to ensure smooth flow of development while engaging them in decision making process.

He charged the team to coordinate the affairs of YPF as well as integrate young Professionals into the party to canvass vote for the flagbearer John Dramani Mahama.

The event was also graced by Dr Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, National chairman of the NDC, Dr Ebo Jehu-Appiah, Secretary-General of ProForum and other executives and members of the ProForum.

YPF women’s Coordinator meets Lucky Ladies

After the inauguration, the National Women’s Coordinator for the YPF, Hajia Salmata Kande visited Akwatia, in the Denkyembuo District of the Eastern Region to educate women in the area on the need to vote.

The move which forms part of the NDC campaign strategy saw her meeting the “Lucky ladies,”  a group formed under the concerns of some NDC women sympathisers of the community.

Accompanied by Comrade Jennifer Toure and Comrade Abdul Malik, they educated the group on spoilt ballot, importance of voting and empowered the women to do more for the party and serve as ambassadors of change.

Hajia Kande explained that the national figure for the spoilt ballot alone in 2016 general election was 167,349 and urged the women to take their time to thumb print well and fold it meticulously  to ensure the December 7 elections is carried out successfully.

She called on the women to massively vote to support former President Mahama’s and Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang agenda, saying “voting is your civic responsibility.”

“Don’t sit down for others to choose a leader for you. Go out and vote for your preferred choice and it should be John and Jane,” Hajia Kande added.
