The Western Regional NPP Chairman disclaims endorsement of Joseph Mensah as the right Parliamentary candidate for Kwesimintsim

The Western Regional NPP Chairman denies  endorsing Joseph Mensah as the right candidate for the June 20 election

The Western Regional Director of Communication for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Issah Fuseini has debunked claims that suggest the Western regional chairman of the party, Francis Ndede Siah  is soliciting vote for the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) for Kwesimintsim to retain his seat.

According to him, Mr Siah was doing no such thing but is solidly behind everyone in the party who will be competing in the constituency primaries on June 20, 2020.

According to a statement issued in Takoradi on Tuesday and signed by Mr Fuseini, the party seeks to react to the content of a video that supposedly portrays the regional chairman, Mr Siah as openly supporting Joseph Mensah, MP for Kwesimintsim ahead of the constituency primaries.

“We want to state on authority that the chairman per this speech only wanted to appeal to the good people of Kwesimintsim to rally behind the NPP parliamentary candidate in the general elections,” he added.

Mr Fuseini noted that the said comment was made in the presence of diverse audience and not in the manner in which it is now presented by others.

He reiterated that Mr Siah used that opportunity to win extra support for the  NPP party for them to win the primaries and presidential election.

“Our chairman remains neutral and supports both aspiring and incumbent NPP parliamentary candidates contesting in the upcoming primaries,” Mr Fuseini said.

He therefore urged the people to disregard any reportage that suggests otherwise and wished all the parliamentary candidates the best of luck, adding that “may the best candidates win.”

Earlier report stated that Mr Siah had called on the delegates in Kwesimintsim to give the MP another term to continue to implement the unprecedented works ongoing in the Constituency to enable the Party retain power in the December polls.

The Regional Chairman, according to report made the call at a short ceremony to commission an Ultra-modern CHPS Compound at Assakae, a suburb of Kwesimintsim in the Effia-Kwesimintsim Municipality of the Western Region.

He indicated that Mr Joe Mensah has been tried, tested and proven to be the ‘best bet’ for Kwesimintsim Constituency, hence his endorsement.

Mr Siah underscored the need for the delegates to vote for him massively to maintain him as the parliamentary candidate come, June 20, 2020.

“As we say, four more for Nana, we say another four more for Joe Mensah for the massive developmental projects and jobs within the Constituency,” he said.

Mr. Siah cautioned the delegates against the candidate contesting the incumbent MP, adding that what the MP had done for the area was unprecedented.

To validate his claim, Mr Siah mentioned  the road construction projects currently ongoing within the Constituency, construction of CHPS Compounds, durbar grounds and drainage systems.

Others are school blocks, scholarships, jobs, caring for the aged and personal support to the constituents among others as clear indications that should have informed their decision to vote massively for the MP to continue the transformational agenda of the Constituency.
