I felt like killing myself— Gyakie shares heartbreak story
Songbird, Jackline Acheampong better known in showbiz as Gyakie, details her heartbreak story in a new song dubbed: “December” which was released on Friday April 5, 2024.
Just nine days after its release, the track has recorded over 660,000 views on YouTube.
Detailing what inspired the song, Gyakie narrated that “December” talked about the disappointment she passed through in her love affair, stressing that the title of the track was just the month she recovered from the shock.
“It’s a song I created during one of my melancholy times. Every line in the song is straight; I’m not simply crafting lyrics. Someone disappointed me: a special someone,” she indicated.
Gyakie shockingly stated that she almost killed herself when she was in that depressed state and got detached from herself from the beginning of the year till December.
“I even got to the point where there’s that suicidal thoughts. I felt I needed to start again in terms of my sound. I felt disconnected from reality as well. So, from the start of the year, I used that time to discover myself,” she added.
Gyakie dedicated the song to all those who were going through a tough moment by reason of heartbreak from a loved one and urged music lovers to stream the song from all the digital media.
