Prez hires special prosecutor to investigate Mahama if he used state money to fund Tracey Boakye & Mzbel
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has directed a special prosecutor to investigate whether the former President, John Dramani Mahama use state fund to patronise houses for Tracey Boakye and Mzbel.
According to a statement issued in Accra today and signed by the Director of Communications from the Office of the President, Eugene Arhin the government has taken notice of the ongoing brouhaha between the ex president, Tracey Boakye and Mzbel.
“The President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has taken notice of the ongoing brouhaha involving some notable female Ghanaian celebrities and the former President, John Dramani Mahama,” it said.
The statement indicated that President Akufo-Addo has hired a special prosecutor to ascertain if former President Mahama misused state fund to purchase the alleged houses for the women involved in the recent feud.
In order to ensure transparency, the statement further explained that Tracey Boakye and all those involved in the brouhaha would be invited to answer queries pertaining to the matter.
“In order to ensure transparency and ascertain if ever there was any conflict of interest or use of state authority power in the purchase of the alleged houses mentioned, the President has directed the Special Prosecutor to investigate the matter and invite Ms Tracey Boakye and all involved, ” it added.
The President expressed that there was urgent need for the special prosecutor to carry out the investigation to resolve the issue.
“The President trusts that the investigation should be conducted with speed to bring finality to this matter,” the statement said.
