Sarkodie expressed his grievances in a recent tweet after the Mortuary Workers Association of Ghana (MOWAG) declared intention to embark on a nationwide strike starting Wednesday November 29, 2023 over poor working conditions.

The association said its action was in accordance with Section 159 of Act 651(2003) of the constitution to exercise their fundamental human rights as enshrined in the 1992 Constitution.

In response to MOWAG action, Sarkodie has appealed to the necessary authorities to work in ensuring that the rights of Ghanaian mortuary men were respected, while meeting their demands.

He admitted that the strike would heavily affect Ghanaians, adding that mortuary men were doing risky jobs, hence needed to be well taken care of.

“This will affect us heavy … Yes I wouldn’t want a strike especially from “them” but I understand… this is one of the underrated / underpaid jobs yet one of the hardest and riskiest jobs. They deserve the right salary , equipment and environment to work effectively … We can…,” he tweeted.
