Unknown assailant attempted to kill Blakk Rasta during live transmission
Following the attack on the Reggae artiste who is also the drive time host of “Taxi Driver” show on Zylofon FM, Blakk Rasta at the premise, management of the station has beefed up security to protect the workers.
The Musician was on Tuesday saved by the security of the station after unknown assailant attempted to kill him when he was running the “Black Pot Segment of the Taxi Driver show live on air.
According to a statement issued in Accra on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 by the management of the station, the unidentified man who invaded the premises and threatened to kill the musician was shot by the Head of Security of the media house when he tried to escape.
“It was unclear what the real motive of this assailant was but he engaged the security details at the premises in a scuffle and sprayed a strange content into their eyes while baying for the blood of Blakk Rasta as he struggled to break into the studio during the live transmission of the Black Pot Segment on the Taxi Driver Show,” the statement said.
The East Legon Police District, it indicated was immediately called as the melee ensued at the point, the assailant attempted escaping.
“Judging the danger at hand, our head the security had to overpower him and in the process shot at him with a license gun.”
“The police team upon arrival took the shot assailant away together with some staff of the station to help with investigations and has since taken charge of the premises to ensure the protection of life and property,” the statement added.
Blakk Rasta who confirmed the attack on his social media stated that “Transmission on Zylofon fm was shut down after A man broke into the building, masked threatening to kill me. Police and security here…”
However, management indicated that the man first went to the station’s server room and disconnected some cables that led to the shutdown of the transmission before “threatening the life of the host of Taxi Driver Show, Blakk Rasta, known in private life as Abubakar Ahmed.”
Meanwhile, management has assured that the musician is “safe and unhurt” and promised to collaborate with the police to unravel the mystery behind the incident.
