Highlife legendary Nana Tuffour has kicked the bucket after battling an undisclosed ailment.
Information suggests that the “Abeiku” hitmaker joined his ancestors this dawn in the house and his body has been deposited to Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) Mortuary.
Currently the reason for the 66 year old singer’s death is not yet revealed to the media.
According to the source, the singer who released ‘Abasa Komu’ this year has been sick for some time now.
Nana Tuffour who is popularly known as 9-9-2-4 is widely known for his hit songs including ‘Odo Kakra Sika Kakra’, among others.
About the singer
Born James Kwaku Tuffour on Valentines Day 1954, he was fortunate to have resourceful relatives, which gave him the opportunity to enjoy music from all around the world while at home.
He started his music journey with keyboardist Alex Konadu and later joined the Wanto Wazuri Band as a pianist.
Due to his good voice and unique style of singing, Nana Tuffour later became the front man of the Waza Africo Band.
Envisioning a solo album, he left for Nigeria where he began working with famous Nigerian musician, King Sunny Ade as his keyboardist.
In 1979, he released his first album Highlife Romance followed by twelve other hit albums.
