Edem to assist investigations after killing a ‘naked’ woman

Popular Ghanaian rapper Edem known in private life as Anthony Denning Agbeviadey has promised to assist the police in their investigation on the near fatal accident that occurred at the George Walker Bush Highway on Sunday morning.

In a statement written by the management team of Edem Goget’em, the rapper after appearing on the United Showbiz on Saturday met the tragic accident on his way home.

“Musician Edem Goget’em escaped what is described by the MTTD division of the Tesano Police Service as near Fatal accident.

On Sunday, 10th December, the musician after his appearance on United Television had an accident on the George Walker Bush Highway, where a “naked” woman crossed his path out of nowhere. Edem’s car turned upside down after the impact but the artiste is very fine,” it said.

The statement further declared the ewe-rapper’s commitment to aid the police in the investigation and assured fans that he was safe.

“Edem is currently complying with the police service for due process as the case is still under investigation. Edem has assured his availability to assist investigations when need be. Edem assures all his fans that he is safe, fully active and kicking,”  it added.

Meanwhile, on Monday Edem was granted a GH₵50,000 bail after he was arraigned in court for knocking down a woman believed to be in her 40s.

The woman was pronounced dead on arrival at the Police Hospital in Accra.

He was charged with two counts of careless and inconsiderate driving and negligently causing harm.

The “Nyedzilo” hitmaker was driving from Abeka heading towards Spintex Road through the George Walker Bush Highway when the incident happened.

Reports alleged that he occupied the middle lane but a few meters away from the Dimples roundabout where he knocked down the victim.

His plea was, however, not taken. He is to re-appear on February 15, 2024.
