Former Prez Kufuor and wife not in self isolation, but in Peduase—Spokesperson
Former President, John Agyekum Kufuor and his wife Theresa Kufuor are not on self-isolation, the Spokesperson of the Former President Kwabena Osei-Adubofour has stated.
According to him, Former President Kufuor has never encountered any person who tested positive for COVID-19 but has moved to a new location in Peduase.
“He just moved to his new house at Peduase about three days ago and that is where he lives now. There is nothing about COVID-19. He and his family are safe and in good condition,” he added.
Speaking in an interview with Daily mail, Mr Adubofour indicated that people should disregard the rumours as there was no iota of truth in the allegations.

The Former President, John Agyekum Kufuor and his wife, Theresa Kufuor was reported today to have been isolated over fears of allegedly contracting the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
According to the report by Starr FM, the couple was taken out of their residence after some security officers in their house allegedly tested positive for the virus.
The news about their isolation comes hours after the Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah announced that the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo had gone into self-isolation after coming into contact with an infected person.
The decision, according to a statement signed by Information Minister was taken as a precautionary measure to contain the spread.
“On the advise of doctors, the President of the Republic of Ghana, is from today, July 4, 2020, taking a 14-day precautionary self-isolation measure in compliance with Covid-19 protocols,” he said.
The statement, however, noted that even though one person around the President had tested positive for the virus, he was negative as of Saturday evening when tested.
Govt appointees battling COVID -19
The New Patriotic Party’s campaign manager for the 2020 general elections, Peter Mac Manu and Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, Carlos Ahenkorah have been tested positive for COVID-19.
These government officials have tested positive for the virus and are currently receiving treatment.
Ghana’s Health Minister, Kwaku Agyeman-Manu tested positive for the disease about three weeks ago and received treatment at University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC).
Currently the minister is at home with information that he has now tested negative for the virus, the President already assured that he was responding well to treatment.
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), Dr Lydia Dsane-Selby, also tested positive for the Coronavirus within the same period.
Govt Appointees who died from COVID-19
Former General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie, popularly known as Sir John died on Thursday after contracting COVID-19.
Report indicated that he succumbed to complications of the disease while undergoing treatment at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital (KBTH).
Until his death, Sir John was the chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Forestry Commission.
He became CEO for the Commission in March 2017 after being appointed by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
Sir John was the second top government appointee who has died from COVID-19 after the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly (STMA), Anthony KK Sam died from the ailment.
The MCE died on Friday, June 12, 2020, while receiving treatment at the University of Ghana Medical Centre where he was rushed to after falling sick.
