Gloria Sarfo: God’s intervention, role in Perfect picture made me prominent in the industry

Actress cum presenter Gloria Sarfo has revealed that her popularity in the industry was made possible through God’s intervention after suffering many years of dejection.

According to her, many movie producers neglected and rejected her for so many years, stressing that “I prayed to God to take off any veil that obstructed my shine.”

Speaking in an interview with the media, the sultry actress indicated that people looked down on her and even thought that she was not well-educated.

She explained the misconstrued perception came out of the roles she earlier played in the local language television series, “Efiewura.”

“There was one thing that was affecting my brand; the fact that I was doing ‘Efiewura’. You know, we all believe in speaking English. If you do something in your local language you are neglected,” she said.

Gloria Sarfo disclosed that someone told her to act movies which she would only communicate in English otherwise she would never get to play the role of a rich man’s daughter in a star studded movies.

She added that even when she earned a role in the glamour movies, she was mostly given uninspiring tasks.

Gloria Sarfo regretted that even if she played lead roles, her picture would not be used for the promo artworks, hence compelled her to cleave to God for his intervention.

Touching on the movie which brought her to stardom, she said her role in “Perfect Picture: 10 Years Later’ gave her some validation after being in the movie industry for many years.

“Emerging the Best Supporting Actress at the 2020 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards was a dream come true,” she added.
