Gyakie celebrates fans after winning Best West African Artiste at the Headies Awards

Songstress, Jackline Acheampong known in the showbiz circles as Gyakie has expressed gratitude to fans who supported her career after beaten the five-time Grammy Award winning Beninese Singer, Angelique Kidjo and others to win Best West African Artiste at the  Headies Awards organised by the Nigerians.

According to her, she would not have achieved such feat without their support and prayers.

“From Ghana to Naija, thanks for blessing the hardworking and big love to the fans,” Gyakie tweeted.

Other established acts in the Best West African Artiste category included KiDi(Ghana), Amaarae(Ghana), Aya Nakamura (Mali) and Nelson Freitas(Cape Verde).

Since her entrance into the music world, Gyakie has continually put out hits after smashes, which has fans humming her melodies.

Gyakie has been on a winning streak ever since the release of her debut External Play (EP) album Seed, and her expanding influence on the African music industry has been massively impressive.

Hit songs she has to her credit includes Forever, My Mind Dey For You, Something, Flames and Need Me.

The song bird has also garnered international collaborations with seasoned acts including Nigeria’s Davido, Omah Lay, Chika, Bisa KDei among others.

The 15th Headies Awards was held on September 4, 2022 at the COBB Energy Performing Arts Center in Atlanta, Georgia.

Some of the winners at the event are Best Male Artiste—Burna Boy, Digital Artiste of the Year—Davido, Humanitarian Award of the Year–Davido, Headies’ Viewer’s Choice-Arya Starr (Bloody Samaritan), Best Afrobeat Single-Fireboy DML (Peru)Hall of Fame-Angelique Kidjo and International Artiste Special Recognition-Akon & Wycle Jean.
