Man, 29, remanded for murdering father and injuring his step mother

Accra magistrates court has remanded a 29-year-old man, Samuel Ofosu at the Ankafo Prisons in the Central Region for allegedly murdering his father at Kotobabi, in Accra.

The Accra Regional Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Accra Regional Police Command, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Effia Tenge, who disclosed these to the media, in Accra on Friday, said Samuel Ofosu, is to re-appear in court, on November 26, 2020.

She said another docket in respect of causing harm was being prepared to put the suspect before the circuit court in due course.

The 29-year old man was arrested on Tuesday, October 27,2020 for allegedly stabbing his 52-year-old father to death and injuring his wife, last Saturday.

The body of the father, Kofi Ofosu, has been conveyed to the Police Hospital mortuary for autopsy while his wife Esther Pokuwaa, 45, is on admission at the 37 Military Hospital.

On October 24, 2020, a landlady (name withheld) of a house in Kotobabi assisted by others, arrested Samuel Ofosu and handed him over to the police at Kotobabi.

The landlady reported to the police that on the same day at about 8pm, Samuel Ofosu, stabbed both his father and step mother.

The two victims were rushed to the Maamobi General Hospital, but Kofi Ofosu was pronounced dead, and Esther was transferred to the 37 Military Hospital for further treatment.
