Wife, Veep and the NPP smooch president Akufo-Addo with flattery messages over his ECOWAS appointment
Party members of the ruling government, New Patriotic Party (NPP) has commended their flagbearer, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for his great and effective leadership skills that has set Ghana on the map.
The commendation was to celebrate the president’s achievement after he was elected as the Chairman of the Authority of Heads of State and Government of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), at the 57th ECOWAS Summit held in Niamey, Niger on Monday.

According to a statement issued by the General Secretary of the party, John Boadu, President Akufo-Addo’s new office was a testament of the great leadership acumen he has amply demonstrated over the years particularly in the period of global health crisis occasioned by the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak which shuttered the world economy and destroyed livelihoods.
“The election of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, which was done unanimously by his peers, to lead the sub-regional organisation, is a testament of the great leadership acumen he has amply demonstrated over the years particularly in this period of global health crisis occasioned by the Covid-19,” he said.
Mr Boadu noted that the president was celebrated around the world over his constant delivery of inspirational speech during the days when the global health crisis overwhelmed people, nations, continents and the world.

“It is also worth pointing out that this meritorious honour conferred on the President of the Republic, is a vindication of the sterling performance of his government in delivering on its social contract with the Ghanaian people and transforming the Ghanaian society for all,” he added.
Mr Boadu reiterated the party’s support in joining the rest of world to congratulate President Akufo-Addo on his election as the chairman.
“Once again, the Party congratulates His Excellency the President of the Republic for yet again making Ghana proud and wishes him the very best in his leadership of the sub-regional organisation,” he added.

In other development the Vice President, Dr Mahamadu Bawumia penned down a congratulatory message on his social media page after the president’s appointment.
According to him, the appointment was a confirmation of President Akufo-Addo’s stellar leadership that the citizenry experience every day in the country.
“As the world transition through the new-normal, your visionary leadership will be instrumental for ECOWAS member States.
May the Lord continue to make you great and strong. We are proud of your selfless leadership,” Dr Bawumia stressed.
Rebecca Akufo-Addo, the first lady who could not withhold her joy also twitted a congratulatory message to celebrate her husband.
“Congratulations to my dear husband Nana Akufo-Addo for being elected as the new chair of ECOWAS,” she said.
