Cancer may also spread through the bloodstream to distant parts of the body. These parts may include the bones, liver, lungs, or brain. Even if the cancer spreads, it is still named for the area where it began. For example, if breast cancer spreads to the lungs, it is called metastatic breast cancer, not lung cancer.

2) Omega-3 fatty acids: Studies prove that omega-3 fatty acids, especially from fish, flaxseed and walnuts help to lessen muscle loss.
3) Cruciferous vegetables: Cruciferous vegetables which include broccoli, cauliflower, bok choy, kale, cabbage and arugula have long been known to hedge against cancer and cancer recurrence.
4) Antioxidant-rich fruits and vegetables: adding antioxidant-rich, colorful fruits and vegetables to a diet, such as blueberries, blackberries, eggplant, red peppers, papaya, plums and watermelon.
