Funny Face out of police custody

Comedian Nana Yaw Odoru Boateng, known as Funny Face is currently out of police custody and receiving medical treatment, a key witness who is a Health and Business Consultant, Reginald Bondzie has revealed.

He said the comedian was detained to help in further investigation last Sunday night after he knocked down a woman and her two children at Kasoa Kakraba junction in the Central Region.

Speaking in a phone interview with the media, Bondzie expelled reports which suggested that the youngest son of the woman died at a spot.

He said many had thought the boy might lose his life based on where the car Funny Face was riding rammed him to.

Narrating the incident, he said Funny Face was not driving recklessly, rather an okada rider who was riding on top speed hit the car of Funny Face for its windscreen and bonnet to damage.

Funny Face in saving the situation rather took a sharp turn and unfortunately hit the mother and her two children.

Bondzie said a savior appeared from nowhere to rush the boy to the nearest hospital after he was hit but the witnesses at the scene stood aloof to shoot videos of Funny face to implicate him, leaving the Okada rider who was responsible for the accident.

“There was light out ‘dumsor’ in the said area so another Okada rider who had no clue and did not see the incident from afar also came to hit the car of Funny Face to totally destroy the car,” he added.

Bondzie warned Ghanaians to desist from spreading false information about the comedian, stressing that he could not recklessly hit his fellow human.

“The Okada rider was responsible for the accident but the bystanders allowed the Okada riders to flee and only implicated Funny Face since he was a public figure for him to stand trial alone. Where are the two Okada riders?, He queried.

Currently, he said Funny Face was released on bail and was at home but failed to indicate the exact place the Comedian was.

He was quick to add that the “Cow and Chicken” star was receiving treatment at the hospital since he had not received any medical attention after the incident.

Bondzie confirmed that as at the moment, three victims involved in the accident, the mother and her two children were receiving treatment at Korle-bu teaching hospital and were in critical condition.

He also called for prayers for Funny Face to overcome his ordeal.
