I put a spotlight on Eno Barony to be recognised as rapper— Sister Afia

Talented Highlife musician, Sister Afia has disclosed that her beef with the female rapper, Eno Barony has helped her gain recognition in the just ended Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA).

According to her, Eno Barony could not have chalked the success and enjoyed the current fame if she did not engage in beef with her to showcase her rap talent.

Speaking in an interview with Kingdom Plus FM as monitored by SpotOnNews, the “Sika” hitmaker indicated that beef was not something bad and that it has projected talent of Eno Barony, something that Ghanaians were not appreciating ever since she started professional rapping.

She asserted that the beef put a spotlight on Eno Barony to be appreciated by most Ghanaians and key industry players which inturn helped her clinch the prize in the VGMA and 3Music Awards as “Rapper of the Year.”

Sista Afia claimed that the fame “God is a woman” hitmaker was enjoying came to fruition through her, adding that “the feud with Freda Rhymz and Eno Barony was orchestrated by me in order for female musicians to gain recognition.”

Her assertion follows Eno Barony’s award as Best Rap Performance of the year at the 22nd VGMA which was held in Accra on Friday to Saturday.

The two day event saw organisers of the awards honouring key industrial players for their outstanding efforts in the year under review.

Aside Eno Barony being the first female rapper to win the rapper awards after she logged horns with Sarkodie, Medikal, Strongman Burner, Amerado and Joey B, sensational gospel musician Diana Hamilton also set history by being crowned the artiste of the year.
