The spread of the novel coronavirus that causes COVID-19 has become major threat to lives and growth of countries in the world.
The virus which was first detected in Wuhan, China has claimed thousands of lives and still counting, due to its nature and how quickly it spreads among the people the World Health organisation termed it as “Pandemic.”
Experts believed that the death rate from COVID-19 varies by location, age and the presence of underlying health conditions.
Scientists could not say for sure the fatality rate of the coronavirus, because they are not certain with the number of people infected with the disease.
But they do have some estimates, and there is a widespread consensus that COVID-19 is most dangerous for elderly patients and those with preexisting health burdens.
Some celebrities across the globe including Pink who contracted the virus said the disease has no respect for adults, children, poor, rich, healthy and unhealthy person, thus the drum beat of the virus still echos “the deadly nature of it.”
With the number of deaths tolled in China, Italy, United States of America, Spain among other countries including Africa have made the livings very scared and conscious to find the cause of the virus, while scientists are also working hard to come up with a vaccine which could cure the ailments.
Against this backdrop, various people across the globe in the quest to unravel the mystery behind COVID-19 began pinpointing the new technology which had an aim to improve lives and businesses as the cause of the virus.
Last year, America and China began to test and roll out the next generation of wireless networks-termed “5th Generation” (5G) network, which was stated to be 100 times faster than the current 4G network.
The 5G technology is said to offer a wide range of features that are beneficial for all groups of people including, students, working professionals like doctors, engineers, bloggers, teachers, governing bodies, and administrative bodies among others as well as a common man.
The originators of the network maintained that it contained high resolution and bi-directional large bandwidth that shapes internet experience and termed it as “effective and efficient.”
The network, also provides a huge broadcasting data (in Gigabit), which supports more than 60,000 connections.
The originators said it is easily manageable with the previous generation technological sound and support heterogeneous services which inturn provides uniform, uninterrupted, and consistent connectivity across the world.
However, a conspiracy theory arose early this year that claimed that the rise of the global pandemic, COVID-19 came as a result of the radiation of the 5G network which is used in mobile phone networks and relies on signals carried by radio waves.
The theory said that China began the use of the 5G network, stressing that the novel coronavirus started from there before it spreads to America, a country which was competing with China over the use of this mobile network.
These theories appear to have first emerged via Facebook posts in late January, around the same time the first cases were recorded in the US.
They appear to fall broadly in to two camps: One claimed 5G can suppress the immune system, thus making people more susceptible to catching the virus.
The other suggested the the virus can somehow be transmitted through the use of 5G technology.
However scientists have debunked the two claims, saying there was no iota of truth in that, thus the global pandemic has nothing to do with the network.
Many people in the world now have adopted the conspiracy claim and are pushing the agenda that the 5G network was major contributor to the new found virus.
They believed that there is a hidden truth to unravel about the 5G network and the cause of the new coronavirus, hence insisting that government officials should come out to inform the public about the real cause of COVID-19.
The insinuation and the fight for the truth have made others give up on the instituted preventive measures rolled out by various health and government officials.
Coronavirus is now being ridden by some people as a myth and pushing the cause of the virus to the radiation of technology advancement.
The question now stands, is the world fighting Coronavirus or the 5G network?
With the current lockdown, hygiene and social distancing protocol are they all to protect the world against the pandemic or the 5G network?
In as much as the world is trying to unravel the mystery behind the 5G network and the coronavirus, it is worth noting that good hygiene and 5G network were all enrolled to enhance lifestyle.
The 5G network is there to enhance lives to faster the manner “we” work and access information, same way health practitioners through the outbreak are championing good lifestyle, by regularly washing hands under running water, sanitising hands with alcohol based hand sanitisers and eating good food and also having enough rest.
These are major things many people were not observing in life but the spread of COVID-19 has awoken humans to do the right thing at the right time to sustain their lives.
